Loud Voice Society serves adult men seeking structured, recovery-oriented housing related to substance use.
Our program is designed for individuals who are prepared to live in a communal setting, participate in daily programming, and work toward stability, accountability, and greater independence.
We accept referrals from community agencies, health providers, and correctional systems, including individuals who may be under court-ordered conditions, probation, or transitioning from custody, provided they meet program suitability and safety requirements.
Our residences are not appropriate for individuals requiring medical detoxification, acute psychiatric stabilization, or intensive clinical treatment.
Admission is determined through a screening process that assesses program fit, safety, and readiness for structured supportive recovery housing.
Loud Voice Society operates a registered supportive recovery residence and two sober living residences on the North Shore of Kamloops, BC. Each home accommodates six residents and offers a mix of private, semi-private, and shared rooms within a structured communal living environment designed to promote stability and comfort.
The residences are fully furnished and equipped to create a welcoming, home-like setting, including comfortable bedrooms with bedding, televisions in resident rooms, shared living areas, and fully equipped kitchens where residents prepare meals together.
In addition, Loud Voice Society is opening a five-bed sober living residence for individuals who have successfully completed the supportive recovery program and are transitioning toward greater independence while maintaining connection to a recovery-focused living environment.
Our program provides structured psychosocial programming from Monday to Friday. Participants engage in recovery-focused discussions, goal setting, life-skills development, financial literacy, cultural reconnection, and employment preparation.
Programming emphasizes accountability, consistency, and practical skill development, including cooking and nutrition education, shared household responsibilities, and cooperative living practices. Culturally grounded elements such as smudging, traditional teachings, and opportunities for reflection are incorporated to support healing and personal growth.
Residents are encouraged to participate in community cultural opportunities, including monthly sweat lodge ceremonies through the Kamloops Aboriginal Friendship Society and periodic visits from a community Elder for shared meals and connection.
Participants are also required to attend community-based recovery meetings such as 12-Step programs, LifeRing, SMART Recovery, Recovery Dharma, Wellbriety, Bible study access, and other recovery-oriented gatherings that support long-term stability.
Participants receive individualized support through regular one-on-one staff check-ins and structured guidance. Residents are provided with weekly grocery provisions as part of the program to support meal preparation within the shared household environment, encouraging the development of cooking skills, nutrition awareness, and cooperative living practices.
We assist with community resource navigation and provide referrals to external medical and counselling services when needed. Cultural support navigation is available for individuals seeking connection to Indigenous resources and culturally grounded community supports. Loud Voice Society also collaborates with and facilitates workshops at various community agencies in Kamloops to support education, recovery skill-building, and community engagement.
